The Detroit Tigers will host the Minnesota Twins for Game three of their divisional series this Sunday from Comerica Park on FOX. Detroit took Game two in a low-scoring battle, 3-2.

Twins Betting Preview

Minnesota moved to 39-39 after falling to Detroit. The Twins failed to capitalize on a strong outing from Pablo Lopez, and they’ll look to avoid losing the series on Sunday. The Minnesota offense is scoring 3.62 runs per Game, while batting .233, with a .315 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 3.44 ERA, with a 1.18 WHIP. Carlos Correa went deep in the Game two loss, and he now leads the Twins in hits (57) and RBI (37), with eleven home runs. Byron Buxton leads the team in homers (13), after going deep three times in the Boston series. Longtime Twin Max Kepler has homered in three of the last five Games, and he’s up to 10 HR and 23 RBI.

Bailey Ober (4-4, 2.83 ERA, 37 Ks) will take the mound for Minnesota. The third-year righty dropped back into the loss column after falling to Boston at home, despite pitching his third quality start this month. Ober has brought some stability to the rotation this season, and he’ll look to avoid slipping up in Detroit here.

Tigers Betting Preview

Detroit moved to 33-42 after defeating Minnesota. The Tigers struck back in Game two, and they’ll look to win their third straight series here Sunday. The Detroit offense is scoring 2.72 runs per Game, while batting .224, with a .300 on-base percentage. The pitching staff carries a 4.51 ERA, with a 1.26 WHIP. Javier Baez has been hitless this weekend against Minnesota, but he still leads the Tigers in RBI (37). Spencer Torkelson is second on the team in home runs (8) and RBI (34).

Michael Lorenzen (2-5, 4.00 ERA, 35 Ks) will get the call for Detroit. The ninth-year righty took another loss last week against KC, despite pitching pretty well holding the Royals to one run. Lorezen has been blown up a few times this month already, but he’ll look to keep his success in division play Game here Sunday.

Minnesota vs Detroit Trends

Minnesota is 38-39 against the spread this season, with a 34-40-3 O/U record. Detroit is 39-35 ATS this year, with a 40-33-1 over/under record.

Corey’s Free Pick

Minnesota’s pedestrian offensive approach let them down yesterday after receiving strong pitching like we anticipated, and with another advantage on the mound here in Game three, they have a chance to make things right. The Tigers have been just as poor offensively, if not worse than the Twins, which also means this could be a low-scoring bout. I like backing Minnesota to win here, but the Under deserves a look as well, as both clubs have are struggling at the plate right now.
